24-Hour Breakdown Recovery - Renfrewshire

If your car has broken down, Motorway Assist operates a 24 hour recovery service across Renfrewshire, seven days a week, including nights, weekends and holidays. Whether you’re stuck on the motorway, outside your house, or somewhere in between, we aim to reach you as quickly as possible and get you moving again or safely off the road.

What our recovery service covers

We can attend breakdowns anywhere within our coverage area and beyond, and we’ll always be upfront about cost and arrival time when you call. Where it’s safe and possible, we’ll carry out a temporary repair at the roadside to get you home or to work. If the fault needs parts we don’t carry on the van, we’ll recover your car to a safe location and arrange the repair during the working week.

Our recovery vehicle carries a fold out trailer capable of lifting vehicles as large as a Ford Transit, so we’re equipped for cars, vans and light commercial breakdowns alike.

How pricing works

Recovery pricing depends on where you’ve broken down and what time it is:

• Motorway recovery starts from a minimum of £150.
• Local recovery from your home is charged at £65 per call out.
• Recovery after 8 pm is charged at £95.
• Other breakdown locations are charged at £1.20 per mile, with the first 10 miles included at no additional charge.

We’ll always confirm the likely cost when you call, before we set off, so there are no surprises.

What to do if you break down

Get yourself and any passengers somewhere safe first, away from moving traffic wherever possible. Then call us with your location, whether the car will start, and a rough idea of what’s happened. We’ll talk you through what happens next and give you a realistic timeframe.

If you’re on a motorway, pull onto the hard shoulder if you can, put your hazard lights on, and stay behind the barrier if it’s safe to do so while you wait.
